Successful candidates will teach courses within the undergraduate Exercise Science and graduate Kinesiology programs. They may also have the opportunity to teach in related APHCS programs (strength & conditioning, nutrition, sports analytics, athletic training), depending on expertise. They will be expected to actively mentor and engage students in research, experiential learning, community engagement, and workforce development while fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

The faculty members will establish a productive program of scholarship in exercise science or a related field, conduct and publish original research, and seek funding to support their independent research agenda. Candidates must possess expertise sufficient to teach exercise physiology and/or related courses. Additional expertise in advanced exercise physiology, clinical exercise physiology, strength & conditioning, nutrition, and/or interprofessional education is highly preferred and will receive special consideration.

Additionally, successful candidates will contribute meaningful service to the departmental, college, university, and professional initiatives and participate in activities that enhance the impact and visibility of the department.

The Department of Health and Exercise Science at Wake Forest University invites applicants for a full-time non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor position to begin July 1, 2027. The successful candidate will teach a variety of Health and Exercise Science courses including human physiology, human gross anatomy, and exercise physiology along with the laboratories that accompany these classes, including a cadaver prosection lab for human anatomy. We seek an individual with a commitment to excellence in teaching, and a desire to mentor students.
