Volunteer Opportunities

Southeast ACSM has a variety of opportunities for professionals and students who want to volunteer and get more involved.

We are especially interesting in providing early career professionals with opportunities for service and leadership in the chapter and experience toward achieving ACSM Fellowship.

We also want our student members to become active SEACSM members and volunteering at the Annual Meeting is a great way to do that!
Service Opportunities Include:

Mentoring through the ACSM Strategic Health Initiative for Women, Sport, and Physical Activity (SHI-Women)

The goal of the SHI-Women is to address current issues facing women’s health and fitness through clinical practice, research, public information, advocacy, and leadership/mentoring programs. Currently, females represent approximately 50% of the ACSM membership. Yet, less than 25% of those women have achieved fellowship status. Please consider volunteering to help the SHI-Women in building its mentoring program.

Any ACSM member in good standing who has achieved fellowship status is eligible to be a mentor. The commitment to serve is for a minimum of 3 months.

If you are an ACSM Fellow and interested in volunteering as a mentor for the Mentoring Women to Fellowship program, please complete the Mentoring Women to Fellowship Mentor Form and email the application or questions to Heather Drake.

If you are an ACSM member interested in becoming a protégé for the Mentoring Women to Fellowship Program, complete the protégé application and email the application or questions to Heather Drake
