2026 Annual Meeting Planning

The 2026 Annual Meeting will be held February 26–28 at the Hyatt Regency Greenville in Greenville, SC.

We had almost 600 abstrcts submitted for the 2026 Annual Meeting! Acceptance notifications have been sent to all presenters. Session details including presentation date and time will be sent in mid-December.

Abstracts submitted for Student Award poster presentations and the What’s Up Doc? Post-Doc and Assistant Professor competition are undergoing another round of review now, with notifications to finalists sent in early December.

Notifications for  Student Bowl, AV Teams, Graduate Program Fair, and nominations for Executive Board elections, Service Award, and Montoye Scholar Awards will be announced in early December.

Information about the SEACSM Mentor Pairing Program, the Leadership Program (LDTP) and First-Time Attendee Award for students is available now. See below for more information and how to apply.

NOTE: Preregistration is available December 1, 2026 – February 20, 2026. After February 20, registration will only be available onsite at higher rates.

Mentor breakfast and Saturday luncheon tickets are only available via pre-registration and cannot be purchased onsite. If you are nominated for an award or running for office, you should make arrangements to stay for lunch as this is when award winners and new board members are announced.

Annual Meeting T-shirt: $26 for S–XL / $28.50 for XXL–XXXL.

Special opportunities for students at the 2026 Annual Meeting

The deadline to submit applications for the First-Time Attendee Award and the LDTP Award is 5:00 PM ET on Monday, December 8, 2025. 
 


First-Time Attendee Award

The purpose of this award is to broaden participation and increase access for first-time attendees to SEACSM Annual Meeting. The award will pay for a room at the conference hotel for up to eight students who are attending the Annual Meeting for the first time.

Leadership Development Training Program (LDTP)

The purpose of the SEACSM Leadership Development Training Program (LDTP) is to encourage student members to participate in activities that will lead to successful mentored experiences at the Annual Meeting, enhanced pathways to degree completion and career opportunities, and increased SEACSM and ACSM service. The LDTP awards are for up to $599 each.

Sports Medicine Physician Track (SMPT) Program

Clinical sports medicine is an important part of the SEACSM Annual Meeting program. The Sports Medicine Physician Track has a two-day dedicated program with over 20 talks from experts and case studies from sports medicine residents and fellows.

The deadline to submit Clinical Case abstracts is December 5 at 5:00 pm ET. Acceptance notifications will be sent in early January. Abstract requirements and instructions to submit are in the 2026 Annual Meeting Call for Abstracts

Call for Applications: The 2026 Mentor-Pairing Program

The SEACSM Emily M. Haymes Mentoring Breakfast Committee is piloting a Mentor Pairing Program this year!

This program is for you if:

  • You are looking for another mentor in the SEACSM community or simply wanting to expand your professional network
  • You want to facilitate mentorship and provide career advice to SEACSM trainees

Mentees – Must be an undergraduate student, graduate student, or postdoctoral fellow (i.e., trainee).

  • Considering a career in exercise science/physiology?
  • Unsure about your next steps?
  • Want to expand your mentoring team?
  • Need career advice?
  • Interested in research?
  • Looking for networking, service, and or professional development opportunities?

Mentors– Must be a faculty member, clinician, or senior member of the exercise science community. Emphasis will be placed on individuals with a PhD, MD, or equivalent.

  • Willing to provide career advice and guidance for SEACSM trainees
  • Willing to provide networking, service, and/or professional development opportunities for SEACSM trainees
  • If involved in research, willingness to discuss research interests and career advice for pursuing research in exercise science.

 

Duration of the Program: one year, formally starting at the 2026 Annual Meeting

Graduate Program Fair

 

The Graduate Program Fair is an opportunity for schools to provide information to potential graduate students about their Masters and/or Doctoral programs at the Annual Meeting. 

The 2026 Graduate Program Fair will be held late afternoon on Friday, February 27.  Once the program is finalized, an exact time and length of the fair will be available.  

The cost of a table at the fair is $75 without electricity and $90 with electricity. If you would like to participate, please contact Michael Berry at berry@wfu.edu to reserve a table. Please indicate whether you need a table with or without electricity, how you will be paying (credit card or check), who the contact person will be with an email address and whether an invoice is needed or not. 

Spaces are limited, so be sure to reach out to Michael early! Once all spots have been filled, applications will be added to the waitlist.

 The Southeast ACSM chapter has a variety of opportunities available for companies and organizations to market their products and services to sports medicine and exercise science professionals in the southeast and to gain local, regional, and national exposure for their company.  

One of the highlights of the conference is the opportunity for one-on-one interactions with exhibitors participating in the meeting. The opportunity to learn more about the products and services that companies and organizations have to offer sports medicine and exercise science professionals is an important part of the meeting.

The 2025 Annual Meeting had a total of 471 presentations including 5 invited speakers, 2 preconference sessions with 9 presentations, 18 tutorials, 13 symposia, 35 oral presentations, 39 thematic posters, 309 poster presentations, 24 posters in the Student Award session, and 10 lectures and 9 case presentations in the Sports Medicine Physician Track program. Total attendance was 1,203 including 817 students and 386 professionals, making this one of our largest meetings ever!
